Grant Program
What happens after I complete the application?

After you submit your application, it will be evaluated and scored based on Team, Need, and Growth. Winning applicants will need to validate eligibility prior to issuing the grant. Winning applicants will be notified on a rolling basis.

What can I use the grant for?

Grant proceeds must be used for working capital — including rent, payroll, utilities, taxes, insurance, operations, and contractors.

How are grant recipients selected?

Grant recipients are selected via a scoring system based on three criteria:

  • Team — Diversity, strong leadership, eager team, local story
  • Need — Proven financial need, financial understanding and foundation, denied or did not apply for other grants or funds
  • Growth — Establishment history, recovery and growth potential, innovation
How soon will I receive my grant if I am selected?

Grants are distributed on a rolling basis as funding becomes available. If selected, you will be notified via email and should receive your grant within 2 business days of notification.

If I have multiple businesses, can I get multiple grants?

Each business owner is eligible for only one grant, regardless of how many businesses they operate.

What types of businesses are not eligible for the grant?

Chain businesses with 3 or more locations are not currently eligible. Non-profits are also not eligible — this grant is specifically for for-profit food establishments. We expect to offer future grants aimed at the non-profit sector.

Are non-profits eligible for the grant?

Are undocumented businesses eligible for a grant?

Who from my business needs to complete the grant application?
